My name is Gwen Morgan, ASID, RID, LEED AP ID+C, and I am a senior interior designer with 16 years of experience at Stantec, a global A&E firm. I have a bachelor of science in Interior Design from Kansas State University, and a passion for designing educational facilities, both higher ed and K-12. I design sustainable environments that promote healthy learning as well as communal growth, and I am responsible for developing the vision for interior environments through each phase of the design process. I also lead a Research & Benchmarking team focused on trends & best practices for furniture & the interior environment. Stantec has interior designers who work on many different types of projects globally, but our Plano office focuses primarily on education projects, with some work in student housing, healthcare, workplace, and industrial. If you choose my shadow experience, you’ll come tour our office, join us for project meetings and design critiques, have conversations with not only me, but several interior designers to understand different roles we can play on projects, and (pending) visit a recently completed project – Minett Elementary School in Frisco. Please wear business casual clothing. FYI: I’m only taking 1 student for this experience.
