So, what happen’s after your specifications are sent to your fabricators? Let’s draw back the curtain and take a tour behind the design, through the back of the house, to see where the magic happens. Even better you'll be mentored by two designers; Myself Victoria Muniz and my colleague Connie Vasquez. We will take you to the back room of a stone fabricator where you will see technology applied to an age-old artisan trade of stone cutting and shaping. You will learn a bit about types of natural stone and what is best suited for specific uses. We will also tour through an upholstery workroom where you can learn and ask questions about anything from how to determine the yardage required for a piece, how they cut the piping trim, what makes a great cushion, and see everything in the making from tufting to finished furniture. After treating you to a quick lunch, our last stop will be a drapery shop. You will get to see and work with all the different types of closures, rods, and even powered window treatments. You will learn about different types of window coverings, textiles, pleats and suggestions for the best application of each while learning how to specifying different types of window coverings. We will provide transportation for this day of design. We look forward to having you join us for this fun day of peaking behind the design! FYI: We are taking up to 4 students for this experience.
