If you’re looking for a not-so-ordinary shadow experience, please join me! My name’s Jessica Mason. After graduating from Texas State University, through internships and part-time employment with different residential design firms, I discovered an affinity for decorative elements like lighting, tile, flooring, and hardware. This knowledge took me to showrooms in the Austin area where I gained an even broader knowledge of these kinds of decorative elements, and I discovered a deep passion for architectural hardware.

In 2018, I ventured out on my own. I operate a studio called Ironwood Industries with my husband. Ironwood Industries is a multi-disciplinary design house. It’s also a wood and metal studio. We specialize in sculptural objects and custom architectural elements in our studio along with high-end architectural hardware from the world’s leading hardware manufacturers. Every day is different. I split my time between our studio in Coupland (just east of Austin), our showroom in Taylor, along with client meetings in Austin, San Antonio, Houston, and Dallas! Our studio is in a 125-year-old brick building in downtown Coupland. Our showroom is in a recently renovated industrial building in downtown Taylor – just a five-minute drive from our studio. Plus, we’re working on a remote studio in Marfa, Texas!

I would love to meet with you in-person or virtually and answer any questions you have about what I do and how I do it. We can talk about different products, meshing art and design, or forging your own unique path in the design world. Either way, please wear casual attire and closed-toed shoes.

FYI: I’m taking up to 4 students for this virtual experience.

  • Timeline: Afternoon for up to 4 hours (we can work out the details)
  • Location: This is flexible and dependent on what meetings I might have - Either our studio in Coupland or showroom in Taylor. Might also be an opportunity to meet at Andalusia Design to tour their facility and see the new Ironwood exhibition space (We can work out the details)
