KATHRYN NELSON
Allied ASID Kathryn Nelson Design Kathryn is the Owner and Principal Designer of Kathryn Nelson Design. Her firm specializes in high-end design services for residential remodel clientele & commercial creatives. With an undergraduate education in English Literature and Psychology from Ole Miss and work experience in sales, event planning, luxury publishing and restaurants, Kathryn returned to El Centro College to study Interior Design. After graduating from the third-year program with honors in 2012, she worked for two prestigious Dallas-based firms. While in their employ, she worked on residential, commercial, hospitality and multi-family projects across the United States, Mexico, the Caribbean and South America. Never one to stop learning, Kathryn sits on the ASID Texas Chapter Board as Communications Director, is a member of DIDA, an Advisory Board Member for the Interior Design Program at El Centro College and the incoming Secretary for the Alumni Association of the Lamplighter School of Dallas. |
LISA BARRON
ASID, RID Dallas Design Group, Interiors Award winning interior designer Lisa Barron graduated from a nationally accredited interior design program. After eight years experience with her own design business Lisa joined Dallas Design Group, Interiors in 2004. Presently, Lisa is a Designer at DDGI specializing in residential and commercial projects. Lisa believes that the pathway to excellence in design is through carefully listening to the client and integrating their wishes and values into the design process so that the ultimate product reflects the client’s perspective and personality. A Magna Cum Laude graduate from Texas Woman’s University, Lisa’s creative approach integrates design with her background in Liberal Arts, Communications, and Theater. She has served as the ASID Texas Chapter President for the 2019-2020 term. |
ASHLYNN BOURQUE
ASID Industry Partner Representative Sherwin-Williams Ashlynn earned a BS degree in Marketing from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville and has enjoyed 13 years with Sherwin-Williams in the role of Designer Account Executive. She serves residential interior designer and architect communities in Dallas - Fort Worth and Austin districts, as well as design students within those areas. Recognized seven years consecutively by the ASID Texas Chapter, Dallas Design Community Designers Choice Awards, she also received recognition for best speaker at a meeting from the ASID Dallas Design Community in 2014. From 2009 – 2016 she served on the ASID Texas Chapter and Dallas Design Community boards as Financial Director. Currently, she is in the role of Roster Chair for ASID Texas Chapter board and on the Student Symposium committee. She is an active member of the international forecasting entity, Color Marketing Group. |
BRIANNE BOWERS
ASID Industry Partner Representative Sub-Zero, Wolf, and Cove Brianne is a Trade Representative with Sub Zero, Wolf & Cove and the current Financial Director on the ASID Texas Chapter Board and the Secretary / Treasurer on the NKBA Texas North Plains Chapter. Extremely supportive of interior designers, Brianne hosts many design industry events at their expansive Dallas showroom. She is very passionate about educating industry professionals and bringing them together to collaborate and learn from one another. |
LINDSAY LIGHTNER
Student ASID Baylor University Lindsay is currently working towards a Bachelor of Science in Interior Design at Baylor University. During her time as an undergraduate student, she has been highly involved in the Interior Design community. This year, she was chosen as President-elect for the Baylor Interior Design Association (BIDA). She will also serve as our Student Representative to the Board for the ASID Texas Chapter in the 2020-2021 term. Lindsay has a special interest in designing furniture, as well as designing multi-family residential and hospitality spaces. After she graduates from Baylor, she intends to focus her efforts in space planning. |
CODY RACKLEY
Allied ASID Studio R Cody is an award-winning designer based in Austin, Texas. Cody started Studio R while attending the University Of The Incarnate Word in San Antonio where he received a B.A. in Interior Design. Cody has sat on many design boards and currently serves as the Professional Development Director on the ASID Texas Chapter Board. He received the Robert Preston Henry Practitioner award for his outstanding volunteer efforts as a new emerging professional. Cody has served on the Student Symposium Committee for the past four years. |
VERONICA SANDERS
Allied ASID Design with Veronica Sanders Veronica is the Owner and Principal Designer of Design with Veronica Sanders. She started her education at El Centro Community College and then finished her degree at the University of Texas at Arlington. Veronica is an advocate for the success of students and Emerging Professionals. She frequently speaks at career day and interior design events educating high school and college students on the importance of networking and being active in the design industry. Veronica began to be active in ASID early on serving in various leadership roles such as El Centro Student Chapter President, Dallas Design Community Student Liaison, and Texas Chapter Magazine Chair. As a designer at her own firm, her efforts are to exceed industry standards in residential and small commercial design. |
LAURA MCDONALD STEWART
FASID, RID, LEED AP, WELL AP Laura McDonald Enterprises Laura received her BS in Civil Engineering from Southern Methodist University and her MFA in Interior Design from Savannah College of Art and Design. After eight years in the commercial interior design field she founded PLiNTH & CHiNTZ, the online magazine that prepares a new generation of designers to enter the workforce. For 10 years Stewart managed METROCON Expo & Conference, the annual two-day event in Dallas focusing on the built environment. She has served on the ASID National Board, currently sits on three interior design department advisory councils (The Art Institute of Dallas, Texas Christian University, and Texas Tech University), serves as the ASID Texas Chapter I.T. Chair, was the recipient of the 2009 NCIDQ National Louis S. Tregre Award, and was awarded the designation of ASID Fellow in 2016. |
