We are proud to introduce David “DJ” Johnson
who is the Director of Chapter Program Development for the American Society of Interior Designers. He is responsible for managing and improving ASID’s chapter leadership development programs, such as Chapter Administrator Training, Presidents Forum and CLC. His job duties also include supporting the valuable work of ASID’s 48 chapters.
Known as “DJ” to friends and colleagues, DJ has worked in association management for the last decade. He was instrumental in realigning the component strategic planning process while working in the Volunteer Relations Department at ASAE: The Center for Association Leadership. He has also served as the head of membership, volunteer and chapter programs at the Drug Information Association, the National Lesbian & Gay Journalist Association, and the American Association of Diabetes Educators.
He received the Certified Association Executive (CAE) credential from in 2008 and the Institute for Organizational Management (IOM) credential from the US Chamber of Commerce's Institute for Organizational Management in 2010.
In 2013 he was named one of Association Forum's "40 Under Forty" exemplary association executives and had the honor of being named one of Association Trends Young & Aspiring Association Professionals in 2013. A former runway and print model, DJ holds a B.A. in Journalism from Indiana University and formerly worked in the magazine industry in Chicago. He has written for both national and local publications.
